    Bobby Dykes swivel ?

Wish I knew what swivel this was, there are still some brands/models seen in old photos that don't seem to turn up for sale anywhere.

Interesting that it appears to have just the hook going into the ball without an eye. Stay tuned for more info on that.

Hey, Paranday. That's an interesting swivel design. It just so happens that Trainer Raul made one similar to this a couple of days ago by adapting it to the base of the Deville No.13 swivel! Fedora gave us the idea. I'll attach a YouTube link of Raul punching on it. The shaft of the S-hook was a little too long, so he shortened it a bit. It's secured with a set screw.
This video was taken before he shortened the shaft of the S-hook.

I can't wait to get this swivel. Because it has less parts I've dubbed it the "Coupe DeVille" swivel. It's not a new design obviously as we periodically see pics of them like in the one Paranday posted. I'm not sure why you don't see them that much as the vintage one I have works great. I have seen some really cheap versions of this style which may not work very well. But with a solid base and ball I think it will work very well, minimizing the hook hanging up on the eye on a miss-hit. Thats why I asked Dee to make this one for me. But I'll give an honest review when I get it. Dee has said she liked it and Raul didn't seem to have a problem with it as the video shows.

Raul has shortened the shaft on the hook now. I worked out on it very briefly this morning and it definitely speeds up the swing of the bag. The shorter the hang of the bag from the drum, the faster the bag speed.

Here's another vintage photo showing a swivel without an eye. It's from a picture off ebay with Randolph Scott posing with a speedbag platform.
