I saw that and was wondering if its' the same company as this one. The seller claims it's from the 20s. I have a hard time believing that since the price tag on the box is $9.95. That seems a bit high for a bag in the 20s. It looks like a cool bag though, but he wants a lot for it. What say you, bag historians.

Yeah that's way too much for a bag from the 1920's even a pro quality one. It's more likely this is from the late 1940's, and the one that Paranday posted is from near the end of Reach's production. George Reach was a famous baseball player during the later part of the 19th century. He retired from the game by the 1883, and opened a sporting goods shop/factory in Philadelphia.By 1883 he sold out to rival Spaulding. So in reality, when you bought a Reach product, it was actually a Spaulding product. It appears that Reach line was retired in the 1950's.

I sent an email to the seller asking him how he came up the 20s era date. I like the look of the bag but not the price.

So this was the answer. "Judging from the style of the Reach logo and the fact that Reach was not very dominant in the 40's I attributed it to the 1920s"
