He is almost always the first to comment on a baggers video, and he is always positive and encouraging. Great guy and very talent person in many ways. I hope to get to Hawaii one day and meet him.
I'd love to have that freestanding frame he shows during the prison visit. Dual adjustable vertical mounts. Looks like a wall unit mounted on a triangular floor frame. the camera goes round and round the stand so it's hard to get a single fix on the construction, but it looks like a great stand.Last edited by Speedbag; 06-06-2009, 01:17 PM.Speed Bag

Currently my research shows that Permabilt is no longer in business. A large portion of it's product line is now offered by a firm called Pro Boxing Equipment, with several outlets in the greater LA area. The bag stands they offer look much like what Balaz , Ringside and others offer. At this time I'm not sure if they do the custom work like Permabilt did.
Permabilt was held in high regard in the boxing and martial arts communities on the West Coast for years. I haven't yet come across any documentation why they folded. I actually talked to them back in the mid 1980's about building a stand alone speed bag stand for me. The gentleman that I talked to was very helpful, and gave me a quote. I don't recall what it was other than it was astronomical. He explained that they did the big rigs for training camps, and the shop that they used did excellent work, but they were not inxpensive.

I can't find any web reference to that company, and I don't remember seeing any thing like that on ebay. I'd buy it if I had the chance.Speed Bag

It is GREAT to finally see footage of JOHNNY PAL!!!! Along with ALAN he is always one of the first to give words of encouragement to us up and comers and showed us he definitely knows what he's talkin bout! Hope ALAN KAHN and JOHNNY PAL do get together and tape it (better yet see it in person)! Probably would be one of the most EPIC punch drumming sessions EVER!!!!!
