Remember those older Ringside ADJUSTABLE speed bags?

Anyone have one of these? This was a model of speed bag Ringside carried back around 2003. H Hard to see in the picture but the strap length was actually adjustable to get a slower or faster rebound out of the bag. I no longer have this bag, but it seemed decent at the time.

This was back when I used a chain link swivel. Also I wrapped my hands , AND wore gloves Boy times have changed...

I've not seen one of those ,other than in the catalog, but I do have one of the Ringside "Jumbo" speed bags. I don't think they sold a whole lot of them, as it was discontinued within a year. And yes I bought it new.

Not familiar with that one, can you post a pic? What was it, just a really, really big speed bag? Bigger than a Title 10x12?

Yep, especially when the loop was adjusted all the way out. I don't recall how well it rebounded...I was a speed bag noob at the time. I know the guy that has it now, I may try to buy it back from him just for posterity's sake (if he still has it).

It's name was not a true description of it's size, per se. It's about 12x8 I'd say off the top of my head (it's smaller than my Everlast 4207's). Up untill that time the biggest bag that Ringside sold was a 9x6 (which I have also). It's teardrop shaped and made of kangaroo leather, (which the entire line at that time was made of) which made it very light for a bag that size.
I have in my collection bags that are much larger than that, larger than the Title 10x12. I'm always on the lookout for "old school" bags that haven't been beat up too bad.

I have a title 10x12 and it is a BIG bag. I'm thinking the Everlast "military bag" 4213 was just as big. I had one of these years ago and it was a whopper.

I can't say I've seen bigger bags in person, although there are some pictures of bags in the '30's and '40's that are huge. All are attached to giant boards.

I have two Everlast 4205's and two 4207's. The former are 15x10, the latter 14x9. Then the Ringside bags, and a TufWear VSB112 10x7 from the 1980's that had never been out of the box when I bought it.
Of the Everlast bags the 4207's seem to take more effort to hit than the larger 4205's. This may be because the the 05's have the plastic baldders in them and the 07's have the new Everlast orange rubber bladders in them. The 05's are shaped more like the Title 12x10 bag, while the 07's have a long "neck", which could be a factor as well. I'm currently using 30" diameter platform, which is about the minimum for these bags.

Those bags must feel like your punching a 15 pound sand bag. They really build strength and power if the board can stand it.
