    Unique Muhammad Ali "Sculpture"

I don't know how my (non-speed bagging) son came upon this, but he posted this to my Facebook Wall last night. I thought I'd pass it on to the forum.

This is a pretty cool Muhammad Ali sculpture:

Coming to Nokia Plaza L.A. Live in Los Angeles on March 25, 2011 is a new, one-of-a-kind sculpture that pays homage to one of the greatest boxers of

"A 22-feet-tall portrait of Muhammad Ali made of 2 miles of aluminum tubing, 5 miles of stainless steel cables, and 1,300 speed bags.

The sculpture will be on display at Nokia Plaza @ L.A. Live March 25 through April 9."

    "Commissioned by the Ali family."

Guess when it comes to sheer number of bags, the name Ali is still the greatest.

Actually we should thank MsDeville, who's son showed it to her. I didin't know about it until I saw her post.

Wouldn't it be great is some of our "California Baggers" could get a little bag time around the sculpture.

This sculpture is gonna be like the speed bag truck. It's going to exist for a short moment in time, and if any bagger has a chance to experience it "live", you need to go. If it gets to Dallas, Houston or San Antonio, I'm going. There's a few other locations I might go to also, but those for sure.

Man that Kalish guy has done some nice work around Ali. Great exhibit and I'm actually not just a Fight Fan but also into art on the subject so I'm digging this stuff.

it looks like he used double end bags, i suppose he used them instead to prevent them from moving and getting tangled up on each other.

                          very cool.
