    Spalding "Aerial" Striking Bag Platform

The claim is for low noise. Had not seen this early Spalding platform previously.

First time for me too. The concept of isolating the platform from the structure is interesting. The ropes act as insulators, diminishing the transmission of vibration. I just wonder how stable that setup actually was considering the mass of the bags of the era. Those tie offs would have to be as taught as a piano string, which would in theory cause them to transmit sound. That would explain why we haven't heard of this before, it didn't do what they claimed.

Very unique setup, which I have never seen before. I agree Dutchman. Gotta tell ya, there doesn't seem to be much else going on in that room. Not sure many places could dedicate that large of a room to just one single speed bag. But for only $5.00 I'd try to put one in a closet.

Scratch that. my wife informs me the closets are full.
