i came across 2 Ben Lee bags from the 40's, One of them has never been hit on, unfortunately that one is a heavy hitter, the other one is in need of inside lining repairs, the leather seems to be good even though this bag has been put though the ringer and i only had a few minutes of hitting on it, it's definitely of a thinner leather & fatter belly and that's why it's alot faster and way more fun to hit, Hopefully i can get it repaired good enough to have a second life with me, i have Elmer's rubber contact cement but the elmer's is nothing like it was before, i need to find a great rubber cement glue that will hold the lining in place and still stay flexible because it's a bag that's gonna get hit on. BTW the glue needs to dry fast enough to keep the lining in place when i contact the lining to the leather on the inside, from the pictures you can see i have a pretty good amount of lining to glue to the leather, So the glue needs to work, Any ideas with great rubber cement that any of you worked with, i need this to work because i only have one shot at this, Oh and Rocky Marciano used Ben Lee boxing goods, i wonder what years were they in production, i can probably look that up but without a computer it just makes it that much more harder.

When i posted about my two ben lee bags, i looked them up just to try and find out (what year they started and what year they ended) it appear like the tuf-wear brand, The ben lee name was bought by another country.Originally posted by Dutchman View PostVery condensed history of the firm, will continue with the research..https://keymancollectibles.com/glove...eballglove.htm Apparently someone has acquired the name and a new line of boxing equipment is being sold

Finally repaired the BeeLee bag that had the torn lining that pulled away, I have been hitting on it and my repairs have held up, these BenLee bags are NOT speed bags, They are Striking Bags ! i also have a pair of BenLee bag gloves and the one NOS BenLee bag i modified that one, These definitely are bags that i will never sell or give away because of the history behind the name, From looking at the leather on the bags and the bag gloves, BenLee used top quality leather that would last the Punishment given from Rocky Marciano and other boxers, i'll post some updated pictures at a later time on here
