    Wood Runner Question

Hi guys! New member here with a question.

I am putting either a Balzas i-Box or an XMark XM-2811 on the cinder block wall of my new gym. I'd like to dampen the vibration as I'm in the basement with other businesses above me, so I'm planning to put wood runners up. A few questions:

    - I usually see 2x4s. Is 4x4 too much? Does it offer any benefit?
    - Perpendicular to the tracks or parallel?
    - Is three better than two if going perpendicular?
    - Do you drill the tracks just into the wood, or through the wood into the cinder blocks?

Thanks all! Looking to be an active member!

Oh, and I've got a Forza swivel and a Reyes bag ready for whatever platform I choose!

I used 3/4 Birch plywood, with 2 layers of rubber roofing glued to the back. I bolted the plywood to the wall with 3/8 sleeve achors. I have a Balaz set up bolted through the plywood into its own anchors. The plywood is more for Dampening the way I’m set up. In your set up you would want a hollow wall anchor, but it would be super solid.
I know this isn’t necessarily what you asked... but more ideas..
