    Need a heavier bag..

Well..I was advised by my therapist who uses bagging in my regime to get a heavier bag than my small ones. He wants me to push my muscles a bit more. That in addition to my weights..and work on heavy and wrecking ball bags. Yeah not training to be a pro fighter, but I have always been a very fit person. Anyways, I need something in the 10x7 range that is a bit heavier than my 8x5 and smaller bags. Something that is heavy but has rebound capabilities. Can you all recommend something that is going to help? Thanks.

RP65 has some cool NOS Ringside bags. The large size is 11X8 with very excellent rebound! I actually rather like to hit the smaller bags, but let me tell ya this Ringside 11x8 bags is pretty damn good! lol! Check RP65 thread. He has great customer service & his products are just as great!!

The Title 10x7 is a nice bag. Not super heavy weight, but it rebounds well.

Also, my title gyro bag feels (and hits) heavy for it's size... try that one in 10x7 size

Very good energetic rebound on those Title Gyro bags, it's quickly becoming one of my favorites. They are on sale right now as well.

Thanks Tim...I bought the gyro in 8x5 but it provides a lower amount of resistance than I expected. Though on a u-bolt swivel for me personally I must say it is lightning fast. I will check the title..two others I was thinking about were the Kangaroo bag from everlast or the ringside rebound bag.

The Blue and White Lonsdale might be a good bag for you. It's got a good weight to it, is well made, and on sale at Ringside as of this posting. Sizes run big. I hit the heavy bag a little bit every night, and I love it. I printed out the Jack Dempsey Book pdf that Tim posted somewehere on here, and I just follow the techniques that Dempsey teaches. I like hitting the heavy bag as much as I do the speed bag. Great workout if you alternate the two in 2 minute rounds.

I think the large Ringside bag that Ralph (RP65) can get may give you what you are looking for. They require of bit more effort than some of the other bags I have used. Still good rebound, but if you hit it like a sissy you'll know it .

I would recommend the large Ringside bag from Ralph as well for what you are aiming for. Those are great bags. Nice feel, great rebound. The larger everlast Kangaroo bag is a great bag too, but it is pretty light and fast for its size. Not as solid as those Ringside bags or the bigger Title bags.

If you can find a NOS Everlast 4213 Military striking bag that would be a good choice too. Good bounce, fits on a 24" platform and has enough "umph" to give you a good workout. It's been out of production for a while, but they still show up on eBay fairly often. The same goes for NOS Tufwear bags, but they are harder to find.

Is this the book you are talking about http://zinelibrary.info/files/Champi...y%20(1950).pdf , if not I'd sure like to know how to get the one you have. Thanks.

I have an Everlast 4213 (from Ebay) and I agree with Dutchman's description and reccomendation of this bag for what you are looking for.

Thanks for the rec's. I am now going to go check out the everlast mentioned, and if not that I will end up with a good old title...for some reason I always come back to them in the end. It's like magnetic attraction to my swivel.

Bagster, that's it. I printed that out and I keep it laying around the house so I can pick it up and read a few pages here and there. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn a little about the "Sweet Science."

I have to give another suggestion for Ralph's 11x8 NOS Ringside bag for anyone looking to hit a larger bag. Just got mine yesterday, and I am loving it. This bag is fairly large and has some weight to it. It takes a solid punch to keep it going. But the rebound is superb and the bag is really lightning fast. The quality of construction is top notch. I compared it directly to the Title 10x7 tonight and there really is no comparison. The Ringside bag is far superior. Better construction, softer leather, truer rebound, faster, and much better feel. Just an all around better bag than the Title, in my opinion. Highly recommended!
