    adjustable speed bag platform

I have just completed my second home-made platform. i decided to mimic one i saw online. It sells for about $800-$900. So far it has cost me $7.00. of course i had access to a welder, wich is helpful. I just kept an eye out for scap material, some donated by the local municipality, and stewed over it for about a week and went for it. I am having a little trouble posting the pics, they may be too large so i will work on that. I plan on trying another stlye of platform in the near future, i will keep you posted.

Can't wait to see! There is definitely a size limit on pics. Usually if you resize them down to 1024x768 or smaller and JPG format they should be OK to upload...

Nice job! What diameter is that drum? It looks BIG.

Thanks! It was free, but it is a 36" diameter table top from a subway or something. Its really heavy, but the surface is very smooth and it has a hardened rubber edge all the way around it. I need to put a sand bag up top and see what that does. As long as my welds hold it should be good. I have been using it, i am just prepared to dive out of the way at any moment! LOL. It keeps me on my toes. Out of curiousity, do you use anything special to treat the leather of your speed bag? I have a small promex, wich is goatskin. Thats another reason the platform looks so huge, the bag is a 5x8!

I do use a leather treatment on my bags every couple of weeks. Specifically I use this stuff but only because that’s what I have on hand.
