    u-bolt is history

Alright....I have been changing back and forth from the u-bolt to the all metal ball hook lately. After hitting and hitting i think i am more into the ball. U-bolt is more easy to keep going straight and it helps with errors too (sorta makes me feel like i am cheating). With the ball hook you gotta be on the sweet spot for sure! So to me the ball is more difficult (which will make me a better hitter). I like the sound of the metal ball the best also. And there is something about my bag only getting worn on 2 sides vs. all around that i dont like from using a u-bolt. U-bolt and chainlink are fastest. All metal ball hook is next, and all plastic ball hook is slowest (i am the fool that buys all the swivels hoping to find one that makes me good). But i cant keep the bag goin for long at a fast speed...so i dont care about the SPEED right now. Control is more satisifying. You guys who can ninja the bag with a ball hook....I salute you! Its the hardest!

Congrats on making the decision. U-bolt is easier, but ball hook will make you a better bagger IMO.

I made the switch not too long ago also!! the best combination seems to be metal ball in the plastic housing ................still kept a u-bolt on a second platform though!

My opinion.....Get you a title 8x5 speedbag and keep your chainlink for now. Meanwhile look on craigs list for used speedbag equipment and see if you cant eventually locate yourself an all metal ball hook swivel. Youtube "speedbag AK" and check out that guy on a title 8x5/chainlink. Good luck

Yeah JC, the Ball/Hook is the way to go for all the advanced techniques, once you get used to it, you'll be able to link all kinds of combos together. You'll be an all around better bagger too!

Funny that this conversation is happening, I just switched back to my ballhook this morning. I still dig the Ubolt and chainlink, it is nice to have a little variety.

LOL....I just went downstairs and put on the chainlink for the hell of it. Amazingly i hit really well on it and it rips faster than the u-bolt. So now i cant make my mind up. LOL...i guess i like the variety also. Never say NEVER!
