I am looking for some feedback on the actual height that I have it set at.
The height is a tad high. I would lower it about an inch or so. The fattest part of the bag should be about mouth to chin level, at least that's where I like it.

Alan recommends to put your fists up on either side of your mouth and adjust the fattest part of the bag to be in line with your fists.

I agree with Kevdawg0324, put the sandbag on top anyway since you have it. I think you'll be surprised at what a difference it will make.

        - How is the 4214 bag now ? I have the same bag and just starting out... I can go pretty fast - but it seems that I have to hit it fairly hard - which detracts from my ability to keep good control....

I saw a Everlast Professional - Large model inthe store today - it looked tiny... but also soft and light... Has anyone used this bag ? the large supposed to be a 10x7 - looked much smaller than my 4214 though - the medium was a 9x6 - and could basically fit in the palm of my hand....almost like a novelty item.

My set is much better now. I changed the swivel and changed the bladder on the 4214 bag. I now get a more solid rebound and it is faster. I have to say that I agree with you about how hard I need to hit that 4214 bag to get a fast return. I go to a boxing gym twice a week and all of the speed bags over there are faster and require less effort when hitting the bag.

I ordered another bag and will report back when it arrives.

What type of bladder did you put in the 4214? I have one and pretty much wrote it off as a brick, but if a $3 bladder fixes it I'd probably go for it.

              I bought this one

The latex bladder, when filled up, seemed much more bouncy then the plastic one that came originally. I am not sure how much this helped because I also changed the swivel at the same time.

I can tell you that my setup is 100 times better now.

              Good luck.
