One of the things that is forgotten about boxing trainers back in the day, is that they could and would come up with training equipment that wasn't off the shelf. We know that there were shops that would make custom training equipment, from gloves, pads, protective gear , and yes speed bags. All it took was the green stuff. Today it seems that there is very few if any people involved in this end of the business. The current generation of trainers seem to be content with the output of the current manufacturers. Of course they are being given the items gratis in exchange for it being displayed prominently during media events.
