Peck & Snyder was an early sporting goods store located in New York City in the 1870's. They specialized in baseball equipment, but are also noted for developing what is considered the first baseball card. The catalog lists a general line of sporting goods, although at this time it's not known how long they maintained a general inventory. They joined A. G Spaulding on his world wide tour to promote the game of baseball in 1888, and were bought our by Spaulding in 1894.

It appears that New York City was a hotbed of activity as far as athletic retailers that offered their own line of products during the latter part of the nineteenth century. From what has been determined most either were bought out by the larger houses (Wilson, Spaulding ,et al) or succumbed to the competition by WWI. Any items that bear their mark are pretty rare these days. Any boxing equipment with the Peck & Snyder mark would be a find, as it appears that it was not a major part of the line.
