my advice wud be definately dont go for 1 in the 1s that are made for a doorway, i have 1 in mine and can only do close grip pullups and ive cracked my head on it more times than i care to remember ! id go with a wall mounted unit and maybee mount it outside as youll have the space to do wide grip pullups aswell as the close grip etc

So, you're working 14 hours a day or two hours a day? If it's 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, that's a grueling schedule. If it's two hours a day, you don't get any sympathy.

its a bo staff, (like what Donatello uses)
its 1 & 1/8 inches thick and pretty strong.
I only weigh 165 but my friend weighs a little over 200 and although it bends
it never cracks or or anything.
I've been using it with no problems for almost 10 years.
However, a metal bar would suffice.

                              Spinning Pullup Bar

I have two large beams in my garage about 6 feet apart fixed at the concrete floor and at the rafters. One beam is used to hang my speedbag, and the other my Thai heavy bag. In between these beams I have a 1 and 1/2 inch solid steel bar, over this bar I have a 2 and 1/4 inch steel pipe that spins freely over the bar about 8 feet from the floor.

Needless to say, this setup really works your grip!
