Hey Ted, welcome to the forum. I have that platform mounted on a studded wall in my garage. I am 6' 1" and the top of the wooden horizontal support is 90" from the floor. The bottom of the platform is 74" from the floor. So since you're 5' 10", it may just fit.
My platform won't slide to the "highest" setting because the top wooden horizontal support won't allow the locking bolt to lock in position in the highest hole. The sliding tube, which slides on the metal runner, hits the lower part of the top wooden support and will not allow the highest setting to be used.
It appears that I have mounted it correctly, but the issue of not being able to use the highest setting may be a question others who have this platform can answer. Good luck.
