Musky, Smelly Speed Bag

The 4200 I found on ebay last week arrived and although it's in almost immaculate condition it smells like an old musky attic. Can't ascertain whether or not it's a moisture thing.. but I can smell it from three ft away. I tried the baking soda in the bag for 24 hours but that didn't help at all. Any ideas? A net search also suggested vinegar.
I'm thinking that I should deflate and attack this from the inside out. It has the original bladder and the bag is a real mover, but the smell is a little, distracting

I don't want to completely remove the bladder as I will have to damage it in order to remove it.

any thoughts are appreciated

I posted about this problem a while back. For me, the odor went away on its own, just took a while. Or, did I use Febreze or Zero Odor? I forget.

Sorry I can’t solve your problem but I may have a possible resource.
Try a Tack shop, those saddles get a lot of sweat and other odors from both side for years and you’re dealing with people who know leather.

I'll give it a few weeks and see if the smell subsides and I'll also try some sunshine. If that doesn't work, Dad I think I'll take it in to a leather or tack shop as you suggest.

Rusty, YMCA smell lol Hopefully not the men's change room smell.

Not sure which smell I would hate the most, the horse barn smell or the YMCA locker room smell. If I had to choose? Damn, I just don't know...

Three weeks later and the smell has subsided by at least 70% ? Optimistic

My experience is that it won't go totally away, but it will get to the point where you really have to get close to the bag to notice, so no kissing the bag, at least intentionally.

Bags can get lonely and forlorn without affection from their owners. If you DON'T kiss your bags you should at least hold their loops and maybe take them out to eat. or stay in, see a movie. Rocky or Million Dollar Baby is a good choice. The really do rebound better.
