Which bag to buy??

Hi,

To all the experienced baggers out there, which bag would you recommend buying? I am from the UK and would prefer to buy in UK to save on shipping costs.

I don't own a Lonsdale speed ball, but whenever I see a bagger using one, it seems to handle quite well. Beware, there are knockoffs out there. You can tell if it's not an authentic Lonsdale by inspecting the logo that they stitch on the belly of the bag.

Speaking of logos on bags, I always remove any logo labels that are attached to the bag. They can destroy your knuckles. Even the fabric logos.

My only suggestion about buying a speed ball is that you should avoid the non-leather styles.

Go to TITLE or RIVAL for bags.

Ringside referred me to a web site that ended up sending me a fake Lonsdale. I sent it back, Lost money on the return shipping. The hell with Ringside, and everything that has Ringside written on it. Walmart level quality crap anyway.

How can you tell a fake? It looks genuine to me.

What strikes me as odd, is the nylon woven strap loop isn't completely wrapped around by leather, like all loops are.

So all genuine bags should have the nylon covered with leather? It doesn't even state where it was made.

I think the way they have sewn the nylon loop on the inside of the leather loop is a good idea. It should preserve the leather part of the loop and will keep it from wearing out.

I have a large Cleto Reyes bag that had a very thick leather loop. My partner, Raul, and I have worked out on this bag for over 3 years and it finally wore out.

Raul took some nylon strapping material and replaced the broken loop. We were amazed what a difference it made in the performance of the bag! There seems to be a lot less friction and drag when the bag is swinging on the steel S-hook of the swivel. It moves so much easier now!

Didn't think anyone could wear out that loop.

Yes, Raul is a very serious hitter on the bag. His workouts are usually 30-minutes to 45-minutes or more. He doesn't really punch the bag boxer style anymore. He loves elbow punches. Here are some examples of his punching style from 3 years ago, using the big red Cleto bag. He rarely uses the horizontal platform anymore. For him, it's all about the vertical platform now.
