new guy from orlando

Hello everyone I've been a lurker for some time and thought I would join and contribute what I can to these forums. I have been hitting the speed bag for about a year on and off. I've trained with one of the guys alan certified to teach hitting the speed bag; Erine in Sarasota.

I moved to Orlando a few months ago and havent been able to find a gym that has a decent speed bag set up. I was wondering if anyone here lives in Orlando and could point me in the right direct. Thanks for any help

Welcome. I'm actually right here in Altamonte Springs.

LA Boxing on Tuskawilla road has two speed bag platforms, both adjustable.

Christy Martin's (famous boxer) gym in Apopka also has two platforms, sorry no pictures.
Kokopelli's MMA gym has no speed bags whatsoever... at least they didn't 1 year ago when I was scouting locations for the speed bag seminar.


Personally I work out in my garage, it's cheap and convenient, but a bit hot during the summer.

Hi Reign: Sorry I missed you when I was in Sarasota. Ernie is a great guy, a good friend and very passionate about the speed bag. I speak to him on the phone occassionally. I hope to get back down there one of these days.

There's a new boxing gym in Orlando as of April 2008

I happened to drive by it the other day on the way to a restaurant. Looks like a nice place, hardcore boxing gym. I haven't seen the inside other than photos on the web site.
