The posting of vids on this forum definitely does something to motivate and inspire me to strive upward in the art of speed bagging/punch drumming. I had no idea what punch drumming was until I started searching the forum. Getting to watch the fundamental skills as well as the advanced combinations of the forum baggers is definitely a privilege that Tim provided with this forum!!! What and priceless resource. Alan giving us so much input to compliment the things that are difficult to grasp in his book, is also something that is a great privilege on this forum!

    Keep on baggin and posting!!!
    Amen.

Good evening. Just going through the videos and came across this one again. Been working on this for a month now without much forward progress. After watching this a couple times in a row it seemed to click tonight. Not that I have it by any means, but did string a couple together. What an awesome video. Thank you

Then, it was time to put the 4 way elbows to some music

Yes, she is can keep one going pretty well. Not bad at Punch Drumming either - but it isn't an addiction. She'd much rather be at a crap table or slot machine.

I try your accented fist roll, but my hands get tangled up. One of these days I might get it mastered. The vert bagging Juxt style also has me stumped still. Oh and those double punch fist rolls Alan does seem impossible to me. Keep on baggin my friend!

Thanks Alan! It took a lot of time practicing it to get it to to this point! I was in La. on vacation which is where is was last year when I joined this forum. I built and out door platform out there and it is a bit less lively than my home board. I took the opportunity to do a ton of reps with the 4 way elbow with the pro-mex 5x8. And then I progress to the quicker rebounding everlast bag. In that way, I was able to accomplish the 4 way elbow to the point of feeling very comfortable with it. I did practice it to music with out adding any other punches at first and finally I began to figure out a linking method to fit the bag beat to several songs. I think it is en echo rhythm to a 7 beat fist roll. That is, if you follow the 4 way with an outward Elbow-fist and link back with the rear straight punch, but I'm not really sure yet. I'm just feeling it not counting it during the song.
Follow your ears and sense of rhythm. I wouldn't worry about "counting it" if it feels and sounds right.

(That's why I married a math teacher..... I can't count well or add fractions and I thought that would be important at some piont in time.. )
