    Heavy bag on joints

It's been my observation with various hitting surfaces, that pads or surfaces that have about an inch or more of give are much easier on the shoulder and arm joints than those that don't have that give, such as a hanging heavy bag. A platlform, free standing "heavy bag" has a lot more give and thus also easier on the joints. Has anyone else noticed this?
