Hit this song today by Gin called Under My Skin because I have speedbagging over my grin.

And had a punch at this song called Flow Motion by Gelka. I look forward to coming back to this song once I get a bit better at this.

            That was pretty good!

You seem like you have an ancient soul.

Is your family descended from Scottish, English, Welsh, or Irish?

I set up a solar panel on the roof of our bag-hut yesterday. Ran it to a digital solar controller, switchboard and fuse panel and connected it up to a battery bank of two 6 volt batteries.

Next I hooked up a stereo from out of our old house bus and found there was still a CD inside it.

Music started pumping from the two 6x9 speakers and I scurried around the corner to my log and drummed my first song on solar power.

Here is a picture and the video.

Aw shucks. I have the awesomest mentor.

I try something new everyday which keeps me excited and helps my progression to keep chugging along.
Yesterday I hit this song, also from the Ministry Of Sound Chill Out XIII. It is a very slow beat to hit on the vert bag. (in straight time) So slow that any slower and the bag stalls. I found it gave me a chance to work on my vert bag speed and control.

That is true it is a slow song, but there is a beauty to punching drumming to slow songs, and IMO there is a higher skill demand also. It takes a bit more bag and power control and lets you work some more complicated combination sound in double time.

It also ups the difficulty to punch drum on vertical. Those three reverse punches coming upwards (RSP, RDP, R-Roll) against gravity adds a whole new element of control not seen on horizontal.

It is a great bag. Every one I have hit has been top quality, even shape and great action.

I'm surprised the vert bag isn't more popular than it currently seems to be. Drumming on a vert bag feels like strumming a pugilistic drum beat on a guitar with your fists. The techniques only need to be simple ones for a lot of fun to be had -

I drummed to this song again today. It's called Superstylin, by Groove Armada.
