    New Drum for Balazs Platform

I ordered a 24" round piece of UHMW Polyethylene, 1" thick, and fit it to a Balazs.

Where did you get that? I searched the polyethylene aisle at WalMart but couldn't find the rounds.

Interesting. I saw in a previous post where you had wood sandwiched between two pieces of polyethylene. What is it you prefer about the polyethylene as opposed to wood?

The goal was to make a completely weatherproof platform, so that I could bag outside and not worry about any damage from rain or sun. The 1" polyethylene isn't any more solid than the wood that came with the platform, just more durable. I'll probably move it outside in the summer.

I got the polyethylene from Regal Plastics in Houston, but there are several places you can find it online as well. You'll have to tell them the size and shape you want though. Kinda expensive, but hopefully won't ever need to be replaced.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the explanation.

Killer platform! The white on white looks great. Awesome punching as usual!! I still gotta try one of those strapped swivels.
